Your Team: Inviting Colleagues and Roles

E2018-24 names two roles on every report: the field observer who walked the building and the PCR reviewer who takes responsibility for the document. They are often different people, and the audit log should record which of them did what.

Inviting a colleague

Team in the navigation lists the firm's members. A firm owner invites a colleague by email; the colleague receives a sign-up link and lands in the firm's workspace. Invitations, roles and removals are handled by the identity provider's panel on the Team page, so the invitation email, the accept flow and the security of sign-in are the provider's, not ours.

Roles

• Owner: everything, including inviting and removing members, firm settings, billing and approving reports.
• Member: create jobs, upload evidence, write notes, draft, review and edit, approve and sign.

Approval is available to any member because the person who signs is the person whose name goes on the report; firms that want only certain people to approve manage that by who they invite. A finer permission model is planned.

Why not share one login

The audit log records the user behind every action: job created, evidence uploaded, draft requested, edits saved, report approved, delivery sent. A shared login makes that record useless and, for a report a lender relies on, that matters. Each person signs in as themselves; sign-in supports multi-factor authentication.

Leaving or removing

An owner removes a member from the Team page; their past actions remain in the audit log under their name. Reports they approved remain approved.
