Point of Contact (POC)
The owner's representative who answers the questionnaire, provides documents, arranges access and is interviewed on site; the source of reported information.

E2018 makes providing a point of contact one of the user's responsibilities. The POC is usually the property manager or the owner's representative: the person who returns the questionnaire, gathers the documents, escorts the site visit and answers the field observer's questions. What they say is reported information, attributed to them by name and role in the report's interview record, and the consultant may rely on it without verification provided the report says where it came from.
A good interview record quotes the POC in substance ("the area always puddles after rain") because those statements are often the most useful evidence in the report and the ones a later reader wants attributed.
