Uploading Photographs and Documents

Evidence is the raw material of the draft. The more complete it is, the fewer "engineer to provide" lines and "not observed" statements the report will carry.

Photographs

Upload the full walkthrough set as JPEG or PNG; ninety to three hundred photographs is normal for a commercial building. Files go directly from your browser to storage, so large sets upload in parallel, and each is processed as it arrives.

For each photograph the engine records: the building system it belongs to (site, structure, envelope, roofing, plumbing, heating, cooling and ventilation, electrical, vertical transportation, life safety, interiors, plus the accessibility and moisture screens), a caption written from what is visible, whether it shows a deficiency, a data plate, a typical condition or an overview, any text that is actually legible on a nameplate (never guessed), which of E2018's minimum photograph subjects it satisfies, and whether a person is visible. The capture date is read from the photograph's EXIF data.

The evidence panel shows the E2018 minimums (front and typical elevations, site, roof, structure, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, conveyances, life safety, representative interiors) filling in as photographs arrive, so a missing subject is visible before you leave the building.

People. Photographs the engine flags as showing a person are excluded from the report by default. The reviewer can include one deliberately from the Photographs tab after checking it.

Misclassified photographs. The classifier is good, not perfect. Every photograph's system and caption can be changed in the Photographs tab of the report workspace, and a photograph can be excluded there. The correction moves it to the right section and renumbers the appendix.

Documents

Upload PDFs of what the owner provided: certificate of occupancy, warranties, capital expenditure history, prior property condition reports, rent roll, service invoices, inspection reports, code correspondence, drawings. The engine types each document, summarises what it establishes, and extracts dated facts and costs with page references. Those facts feed the age basis of every system, the reserve table's installed years, and the document-review section of the report, each tagged as documented and attributed to the document.

Documents requested and not provided go in the field notes as a line ("as-built drawings requested, not provided"); the report lists them in section 5.2 and, where a quantity could not be confirmed against drawings, says so.

Replacing or removing evidence

Each photograph and document on the job page has a remove control until the first draft exists; removing deletes the file. After a draft exists, excluding a photograph in the workspace is the right tool, and a change to the evidence set means drafting a new version.

Limits

Files up to 60 MB each; a job can hold several hundred photographs. Very large document sets take longer to extract; the job page shows each item's status.
